Crashdiet , drink whiskey , be sleazed

We all heard of Hard Rock , Glam Metal , Heavy Metal , but hey what happens when these classics mix ? We get sleaze metal . The first band who comes into your mind after thinking on sleaze metal is Crashdiet !
It was formed in 2000 , influenced by Motley Crue , Skid Row , Guns N' Roses and Hanoi Rocks . The band was split up in 2002 and reformed by Dave Lepard . In 2005 they released the debut album Rest in Sleaze it was number 12 in the Swedish album charts and they played on the Download Festival . Then in January 20 , 2006 Dave Lepard committed suicide at the age of 25 because of depression . The band said they wont continue . Few months later they said that they will go on with the legacy because of Daves spirit. Then they got a new vocalist Olliver Twisted who is playing with band Reckless Love they made the album Unattractive Revolution. After it Olliver left in 2008 . The next singer was Simon Cruz and in 2010 they released Generation Wild which was a really great succes , for more info go and check them by yourself . In this year they opened 2013 with their new album Savage Playground which is really groovy and sleazed ( this video is from their new album ).

DESTRUCTIVE MUSIC : EYE OF SOLITUDE | CANTO III [UK DEATH/FUNERAL DOOM] REVIEW BY KEVIN “JUNK” KIDD

Canto III is the 3rd album of Funeral Doom Metal band Eye of Solitude, that will be released on November 25th (Europe) and December the 3rd (USA), thorough Kaotoxin Records. Based in London UK, the band was founded in 2011 by it’s vocalist Daniel Neagoe and since then they’ve released 2 albums and 2 EPs.
Now, writing this review is indeed very personal to me for two big reasons: first, these guys are some of the most awesome people I met my entire life, while Mr. Daniel is like family. Second, I wasn’t too much into doom metal few years ago but thanks to Eye of Solitude’s first album, “The Ghost” (released in 2012), my interest grew exponentially for the genre. With all that being said, one might doubt my level of honesty in regarding this review, but I’ll try and be as objective as possible.
Unlike the previous material, Canto III tends to have a different output – while not leaving aside the funeral doom elements, it also brings out a more theatrical feature to the songs, which are noted as “acts”. Differences can be also felt even on the side of production and mixing…if you liked the quality of the previous releases, then you’ll definitely want to fuck this motherfucker! It might be a six track album, but long enough to give you the chills and vibes.
Before taking each song apart, I gotta talk about the interludes, frequently placed in the middle of the songs. For me, they’re the backbone of the album and you’ll acknowledge that while reading further. Not every doom band use them in their music, so they are pretty rare thing if not unique in this case, considering the themes and aesthetics that characterize them.
Another great aspect – the up-and-down transitions – from slow, dark and at sometimes melodic parts, to a deep guttural voice accompanied by a raw and technical noise from the instrumentals, eventually switching to those interludes.

“Act I Between Two Worlds (Occularis Infernum)”
Canto III’s intro song, also the longest, is my favorite. It greets you with a funeral and gloomy atmosphere, that would perfectly fit the trailer or introduction of a dark drama movie; whereupon the funeral doom begins.
One more interesting thing about this song, the reason why I love it the most is because of it’s complexity – after an awesome interlude, this time, the song’s shape adopts a suicidal black metal aspect, similar to the great “Shining” (the one from Sweden). And that’s a compliment! Because “Shining” is my all time favorite black metal band.

“Act II Where The Descent Began”
I’d consider the best part of this song is the end of interlude and what comes after. The transition is made by an intense emotion of desperation expressed by the vocals, supported by a frantic sound from the keys and drums. So good job Mr. Pedro (keys) and Mr. Adriano (drums), you’ve nailed it!

“Act III He Who Willingly Suffers”
Just like Act I, Act III starts with a calm intro. In Act III the guitars are the most impressive, especially the solo. Both Mr. Indee and Mr. Mark get the applause after the Act III.

“Act IV The Pathway Had Been Lost”
Right off the bat, this song has the best interlude! Love that crying desperate voice!
The songs may have a common structure, but musically, thematically and technically speaking, they’re different; everyone of them excels through something. And that’s the most important reason why Canto III is a fascinating album, worth listening from the first to the last second.

“Act V I Sat In Silence” and “Act VI In The Desert Vast”
When reaching the final two songs, these things come to mind: obvious elements from “Awoken By Crows” (Eye of Solitude’s previous album) in Act V, and one more small burst of “Shining” influences in Act VI.

Like I mentioned the terms “dark drama movie” and “theatrical” earlier, I do think these are some of the main characteristics of Canto III – the art within art idea worked amazingly well with the interludes, it gave the album a story, something the listener can actually visualize not just listen and feel. And I always liked Mr. Daniel’s low gutturals and cleans, but the level of emotion in his vocals during the Act I, III and IV are soul crushing. This time, he outdone himself.
I honestly don’t consider Canto III just a new great release, Canto III is THE release that will definitely make Eye Of Solitude a bigger name in their scene, and no doubt, one of the best Funeral Doom Metal materials you’ll encounter this year.

Kartikeya , The God Of WAR !

Honor Vishnu and all the gods in the Pantheon ! Kartikeya Death Metal band from Moscow . Well guys , we had folk and power metal suggestions , now we go a bit heavier with some other lyrical themes and Death Metal . Kartikeya is the god of war in the Hindu Pantheon .
Now we got its name and location , lets go on to the story , they were once Velial from 2004 - 2005 but they had not so great success as Kartikeya, now since 2005 they are Kartikeya and have 2 released ass-kicking albums . I listened to Mahayuga and the album is from 2010 .
My first impressions were a bit odd but I listened to 5 songs and I fell in love in that band . It is experimental , brutal riffs , blasts , clear and growling vocals . Some people call it Vedic or Hindu metal . It has Indian folk elements in it , with old classic Indian instruments and sometimes Violins . The lyrics are not long but not short and is always about Hindu gods and myths . For me the best song is Neverborn where he sings in clear voice and you can feel power in your veins . The greatest lyrics in the album was the Fields of Kurukshetra which was a battlefield in the Mahabharata . Label : Grailight Productions .

Now the members , they had many past members however it would take a lifetime to line them up , however Andrew Ischenko , legendery drummer ( drummed in around 50 bands ) was with them from 2007 till 2010. Chela Harper entered the band this year .The current members are :
Roman ''Arsafes'' Iskorostenskiy ( Guitars , Vocals , Keyboards , Ethnic instruments , Wardrums , Drums )
Dimitry ''Drevo'' Sorokin ( Percussion )
Alexandr Miroshnichenko ( Drums )
Chela Harper ( Guitars , Back vocals )

Similar artists to this brutal mantra band are Rudra , Arkan and Shturm . Go meditate like a metalhead . Have a nice day and honor your gods , especially the gods of war . For more info about tours and the band:

SKILTRON ! Carry your bagpipes into the battleground !

You never heard about this , but actually this is a new genre and its Scottish Folk Metal , how awesome is that ? Get your whiskey , get your skirt and blow your bagpipe . Well folks , this is a new band for you and I also suggest thrashers to check it because they sometimes use that element also . Lyrical themes are about battles mostly . However if you didn't hear them and if you are a Scott then I suggest you go and buy the album . You say now : '' Bagpipes sound awkward '' well dude , nope . Skiltron uses the bagpipes different as you saw in TV or on Scottish folk concerts and they also use flutes . The band is actually Argentine , and the name Skiltron   derives from a variation of the world schiltron , a formation used by the Scottish during the Wars of Independence , the band was established in 2004 . In 2006 the album : The Clans have United came out by Underground Symphony record label . The album is classic , very challenging to make a cover band . And then it came to '' Beheading the Liars '' in 2008  and in this year 2013 September 16th they released Into The Battleground ... I love it , I love them . One of the best folk metal bands which I ever heard . Also if you are a paganist , they make themes about that too . However my favorite album is from 2010 '' The Highland Way '' . They say Elvenking and Triddana is also similar to this band .

2 members left the band so they are now a trio , members :
Matias Pena ( Drums )
Emilio Suoto  ( Guitars , Mandolin , Bouzouki )
Ignacio Lopez ( Bass )
However , live they have 2 more performers , since 2012 , they are only current live members .
Callum Kirk ( Bagpipes )
Tony Thurlow ( Vocals )
And Skiltrons fan base is more from Europe then actually from Argentina .
Hey guys , please share the experience , this is really a band what needs more publicity and needs more fans. And go to concerts ! For more information here   - Revölutíon

ALPHA TIGER A rise of a new Power !

Yes , you may not know this band . BUT !!!  As to those who love power metal you would surely love this band it remembers to old school power metal . Just like old Hammerfall , Helloween or Blind Guardian they mastered the power metal , also they use speed metal elements , sounds perfectly . What I want ? Well I don't just love famous bands or overrated ones . Actually I want to highlight bands which Need to be famous.
Well now you surely ask : '' Why the hell would I know some underrated band ?  '' The answer is that every band started like that . Seriously Bands need publicity and this world deserves more Metal and more Power . Alpha Tiger has similar lyrical themes to Helloween and Forever Storm . They were once Satin Black from 2007 - 2011 but they broke and they reunited in 2011 again . Only they changed the drummer: Axel Patzold was in Satin Black once, but from the band Painful Existence David Schleif hopped in and is now the drummer of Alpha Tiger . So , the members are :
  Dirk Frei ( Bass )
  David Schleif ( Drummer )
  Alexander Backasch ( Guitars )
  Peter Langforth ( Guitars )
  and Stephan '' Heiko '' Dietrich ( Vocals )
They had two albums : Man or Machine from 2011 which is really good old school like power metal , and I enjoyed it , and said : Hey , this is an ass-kicking band .

And the other one is from this year January 28th they released Beneath the Surface . Well the album has a good intro and very impressive power metal , can say also in some songs melodic power metal or speed metal . It made me an eargasm . Like really it was worth to listen to it . They made also a music videos, the most favorite is From Outer Space . So now have a chill and check this awesome band .

And go to a concert , about tours check their page : http://www.alphatiger.de/en/
